Choose one Vietnamese input method
Telex and VNI are different ways to compose Vietnamese. Telex uses letter sequences; VNI uses number-based marks. The website accepts the completed text from either method, but it does not replace your system's Vietnamese input software.
Select the corresponding system guide in the main test and keep Built-in practice unchecked. Confirm the method in a normal text field before starting a timer. If Roman letters or digits remain in the word, check whether the input method is active.
Separate vowel shape from tone
The first exercise compares a, ă, â, e, ê, o, ô, ơ, u, and ư. The second keeps the base syllable ma and changes its tone. Separating these tasks makes it easier to see whether a mistake came from the vowel shape or the tone mark.
Under common Telex rules, aa produces â, aw produces ă, and dd produces đ. Tone keys include s, f, r, x, and j. Your IME controls when those sequences are converted and how marks are placed; use its documented behavior rather than expecting the website to guess a word.
