Use Gujarati input rather than a lookalike script
Gujarati and Devanagari are separate scripts. Typing a Hindi-looking equivalent does not produce the Gujarati characters in the exercise. Select a Gujarati system layout or phonetic IME and confirm that the first sample matches.
The main test includes a named Gujarati InScript reference. Its physical positions should be used only for that layout. A phonetic IME can still be used through system input, with Built-in practice left unchecked.
Learn dependent vowels with ક
The first drill changes only the vowel sign. For કિ, the consonant precedes the dependent sign in the text sequence even though the rendered sign appears on the left. Compare કિ with કી slowly so that vowel length does not become an accidental substitution.
If your IME offers suggestions, choose the form shown in the target and commit it. Do not accept the first suggestion automatically. A typing exercise checks the chosen spelling, not whether a suggested word could be valid in another sentence.
